Who else is dreaming of a week or weekend away? I am really missing travel in all shapes and forms, whether it be by plane, by car, or by ferry! We are tackling our second week of snow here in Boston, so I can’t help but find myself channeling all things Spring and Summer in New England. Summers in New England (in my opinion) are the best part of living here, and after a long Winter, all of us Bostonians are looking forwrad to reap the rewards of the sunshine, and longer days that May through September brings. Navy and white is such a classic New England combination, and this roundup is giving me all the Cape Cod and Nantucket feels. If you are not native to New England have you visited? Where will you head and what will you pack in your bag when you travel next? I am hoping for a small getaway to the Cape or the Islands (Nantucket, Block, or Martha’s Vineyard) if Summer allows it.
I’ve rounded up some picks for a perfect coastal getaway (whenever that may be!) Just add sunshine, a warm breeze, and a cold refreshment of your choice! Everything is linked for you to shop. In full disclosure, this post contains some commissionable links, for which I may receive a small portion of proceeds should you choose to make a purchase. Thank you for your support!
I am loving sweatshirts lately. I think it’s no surprise that leisurewear is having a big moment right now as most of us are going out less, and spending more time at home. I love the classic, nostalgic vibe this Kennedy sweatshirt and Old Salt sweatshirt give off. Pair them with a pair of white jeans, or crops, and you have an easy, but put together look. In New England, we are wearing sweatshirts year round, but these ones are perfect for Spring and Summer when the temperatures dip.
Hats are a great idea to protect your face from the sun, and I love the look of this wide brim, which is designed to be easily packed. The navy grosgrain ribbon adds a perfect touch. This is definitely not a boring accessory, but is absolutely neutral enough to pair with a variety of looks.
Blue and white accessories are classic and go with so many styles. This rope bracelet is a more casual everyday look, and the blue and white drop earrings can be worn with either a casual or more dressed up look. I love the addition of the pearl.
The Nantucket basket phone case is one of many from Muddy Dog Co. Her merchandise is quintessential New England. This one emminates Nantucket feels, but I really love all of the choices she offers in her shop. Here are some others I have previously sourced and shared. The Press for Champagne one is my favorite!
Nothings says Summer or vacation like a new novel from Elin Hildrebrand. Her newest book Golden Girl is available for pre-order here and is released on June 1, 2021. I cannot wait to dive into this beach read!
This Navy and white striped towel is perfect for the beach or pool. Our beach towels have seen better days, so I am planning to order 5 of these (one for each of us) to replace our tattered ones. We are lucky to live near the ocean, and beach a LOT during the Summer. I love the resort look these give off. They would also work great in a coastal B&B or vacation rental property.
If you are traveling with your best dog friend, or just in need of a new set, this dog collar and leash are perfect for your nautical pooch.
This rolling case is the perfect size for your week or weekend trip. It is affordable for luggage, and it can be monogrammed! This cabin bag and large tote coordinate perfectly, and make a pretty, put together set for any/all of your travel needs.
Not to be overlooked is this Barrington gifts wine tote. It fits 2 bottles, comes with an attached wine-opener, and is made of water resistant canvas. Perfect for bringing on a boat, or to a beach gathering.
Lake Pajamas are amazing. And this cozy robe is no exception. It is perfect for throwing on for a trip to the pool, after a shower, or simply to wear for lounging around. I love a classic white robe, and the navy piping on this one is a simple but perfect addition.
Blankets are one of my favorite gifts to give and receive. I honestly can truly never have enough of them. On my porch, deck, draped across the bottom of beds, styled on a chair, or rolled up in a basket in a living space. They add coziness and comfort to any space or scenario, and a classic one like this Chappywrap will never go out of style. These are the coziest blankets. Trust me! My kids are always stealing mine. After you own one, you will immediately want more. They are perfect to pack for a trip if you find you may spend time outside on a cool or breezy evening.
Last but not least, Birdies are some of my favorite flats to wear. These ones are light in color, but fear not, they are machine washable! Not only are they stylish but they are some of the comfiest shoes you will own. I love the colors in this pair that will be perfect from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The exception of course, is travel to warm weather destinations. When in a warm setting, I am always a proponent for wearing white.
Whether you live somewhere coastal, or have a trip on the horizon, I hope some of these finds help you with your packing and planning! With no trip currently planned for myself, I am holding out hope that warm weather (despite what the groundhog claimed) is right around the corner, and a stay-cation, at the least, can be planned and enjoyed in the coming months.
xx,
Katie
